Additional information

Hello, I would like to know what the schedule of MSc in International Accounting, Audit & Control Schedule looks like. Some comments say the classes at IESEG are 8 hours a day and some say 4 hours a day. Can anyone give me a clearer response? 1- How many hours a day did you spend in class? 2- How long were your breaks and lunch time? 3- Was the attendance mandatory? 4- Did you need to do assignments at home, or did your evenings and weekends belong to you? 5- I am interested in a hands-on MSc and not a theory-based MSc. Are there too many writing assignments or the assignments are project based? 6- Were there students over the age of 30 in this program? If yes, how many? I will appreciate your response.

Hello,

The schedule is quite condensed and it changes from month to month.

Sometimes there are classes from 08:00 until 17:00 , and sometimes just one session per day, so it is not fixed and it depends on the course's duration (could be 2, 3, or 4 hours). There are short breaks during the sessions (10-15 mnts).

Lunch breaks are normally from 12:00 to 13:00.

A small example how a one day could be:
from 08:00 to 12:00 (Course A)
from 12:00 to 13:00 (Lunch break)
from 13:00 to 17:00 (Course B)

For most of the courses, there are individual + group work assignments and exams, which of course take time to be done.

The attendance is highly recommended (passing courses without attendance is kind of impossible - many graded group works take place during the sessions).

We had students from different ages, few of them were more than 30 (the majority were in twenties).

I hope I've answered your questions :)

If there's anything else you need to know, please don't hesitate to ask.

HI, can you tell me please how many courses are we going to take in the first semester and in the second semester? and whether there will be balance between the exams and the projects during the semester or they might intersect with each other? and can we finish this master program within one year ? since on the course page, it's written that it's about 18 months while some students comments said that it was 1 year? regarding the internship, can we do it at any place in the world and can you tell us a little bit about the capstone project? and whether there is much pressure in the program as a whole?
thanks on advance

Hello Abeer,

In order to graduate from a Post-Graduate Program (PGP), you must complete two semesters of courses for a total of 60 ECTS, and complete a capstone (the capstone counts for 30 ECTS)
The capstone can be done in three different ways (You are free to choose the type of capstone that you wish):
• Internship or work experience (from 4 to 6 months) validated through a professional practice report.
• Thesis or research project.
• Consulting project.

This program is quite condensed; in the first semester there are 13 courses including an obligatory French course if you are not fluent. In the second semester there are 13 course (plus 1 optional French course).

IN GENERAL:
- semester 1: starts in September and ends in December
- semester 2: starts in January and ends in May
- the internship: it depends on when your contract starts (could be starting June)
So normally, the duration of the academic year is 9 months of courses and 6 months of internship (you may take extra months to prepare the internship report - depending on your proactiveness)

You can do your internship in any country.

Sometimes, exams and projects may intersect each other, and sometimes no. (normally, the beginning of the year is more flexible).

Please don’t hesitate to ask if there's anything else you need to know 😊

Thank you Dana for your answer,
Can you give an advise related to the cape stone project like which one you recommend me to choose? and whether we first finish the 9 months of academic courses then we start working on the capstone project or whether the second semester include both the courses and the project?

Hello again,

You can choose what fits your future professional plan:

- If you are planning to work with companies and to practice all what you’ve learned in the program, then an internship would be a good choice.

- If you are planning on doing a PHD, then the thesis or research project would be better for you.

The second semester include only courses, once it is done, then you can start your internship/thesis. (you can start looking for an internship in the second semester but not doing it)
