Housing: accommodation and letter of housing support for visa application

Additional information

Hi Team, I’m currently applying for my visa on the france-gouv website and believe I need to prove 3 months minimum accommodation. 1) am I able to put IESEGs details down as a contact for the visa application for my studies and for housing? 2) If I book an Airbnb or booking.com accommodation for the first 1-2 months, to use this time to find homes when I am already in Lille, does this normally suffice? 3) I understand IESEG provides a letter of housing support to students - does this still apply for students who don’t use IESEGs student accommodation? 4) are couples eligible for the options IESEG proposes? I am moving with my partner / girlfriend! Thanks so much!

Hi Jonno, just to follow up on your housing questions as I also have related questions for the team to answer.

It seems like you also saw the 3 months min requirement, can the team kindly confirm this please?

also, can I use online sites like Lodgis to look for apartments in Paris? Thanks.

The 3 months thing does freak me out !
My partner is coming with me on a Visitor visa and she’s required to have proof of accomm for a whole year … 😐

Airbnb might not be accepted by Consulates, you could confirm with Campus France

Same here Jonno. As i also plan on renting something temporary for the 3 months thingy then when I'm there I can see in person for my longer-term rent

Ah yikes okay thanks Damien!
I’ll get in touch with a few of the options on the platform and see what we can organise. Most of it seemed like rooms with 1 single bed - which might not be suitable for us both!

Hey Jonno, maybe you might be able to advise me, regarding the proving of financial support, I guess they don't mean you need to show proof of finance for whole 2 years upfront right? i did see the 661 euros per month (I believe) requirement

I read it as just the duration of the visa (1 year initially) - so I’m hoping that’s all we need for now!!

I have the same questions regarding housing and financial support. For my visa the french gouv is asking for 615€/month plus the fees of the school. Part of the money would be coming for my parents and the other part I will have my dad as a guarantor but I see they're also asking for where the money it's coming from, how can I prove that?
