Airbnb might not be accepted by Consulates, you could confirm with Campus France

Hey Jonno, maybe you might be able to advise me, regarding the proving of financial support, I guess they don't mean you need to show proof of finance for whole 2 years upfront right? i did see the 661 euros per month (I believe) requirement

I read it as just the duration of the visa (1 year initially) - so I’m hoping that’s all we need for now!!

I have the same questions regarding housing and financial support. For my visa the french gouv is asking for 615€/month plus the fees of the school. Part of the money would be coming for my parents and the other part I will have my dad as a guarantor but I see they're also asking for where the money it's coming from, how can I prove that?
