Leading has always been my passion for as long as I can remember.
Ever since I was a child, I was told that I had good social skills and the ability to convey my opinions and thoughts with ease. I never quite believed it myself, until I decided to throw my hat in the ring and run for class representative. From that moment on, I realised that I do indeed have a certain directive style that seemed to work out with everyone I encountered.
This led me to take it a step further and research into team leading and managing careers, which in turn led me to IÉSEG, in which I have and continue to learn valuable and relevant knowledge on the subject.
I study International Business and Management.
Within the scope of what I learn at IÉSEG, you can find hard skills such as finance, economics, mathematics and more; but surprisingly enough, for me it is mostly the soft skills that interest me. Indeed, I learn about current processes and the way industries work from all perspectives and points of views, allowing me to fully understand and analyse them, thus allowing me to be a considerate and knowledgeable business leader in the future.
Moreover, I do not learn how to successfully integrate industries and just become a cog in the machines but rather learn how to integrate them and change the way they operate along with their corporate culture, in order to transform them into firms that generate revenues aol whilst keeping current issues at hand such as sustainability, human rights, fairness, etc.
Acquiring knowledge from individuals of all origins and backgrounds.
Being an international school, I get to exchange and transfer knowledge based on my own experience, leading me to IÉSEG, as well as learn from other individuals that may have had extremely different life journeys than me but are somehow in the same stage of their life as I am.
Encouraging discussions and fostering communication with all members of the class has definitely been a driving force for me to really be able to thrive in a multicultural and international environment.
Indeed, learning from each other and acknowledging each person’s point of view and action plans can be a great eye opener on how the current world works and how one issue can have many different solutions that all work just as well.
Find a way to lead, without imposing your ideas and points of view.
Having been elected class representative by my peers for 9 years.
All throughout my life, I have made it my mission to use my social skills and position in order to help students and people that might not be as comfortable expressing their disagreement and mostly just roll with the punches without trying to fight back.
This is why my greatest honour and achievement to this day would be that I have been trusted by my peers for as long as I have to defend their values and decisions along with communicating issues (and praises alike) that they would never have brought up due to a lack of courage or fear of not being heard.
