What do you live about your job and the company?

Being in one of the best business schools in France, IESEG allowed me to meet people and interact in the practical field with different cultural background. Hearing their experiences is the best way to learn and bring new ideas to practice in my future working life. Having unique proposals is highly valued in the field of international finance since it is a field that needs creativity and strategic thinking, so that's why I highly believe that working closely with so many people from different countries help me to open my mind and enrich myself with new knowledge not only in international business and economics but also in entrepreneurship, marketing and negotiation.

Greatest achievements

I am proud of myself for learning English because at the beginning it was challenging to communicate in a foreign language, and in my point of view, it requires discipline and self motivation, so for me it was a really great moment when finally I finished my course and I achieved to communicate. Is is the same with French, even though I continue practicing, it is an achievement already to understand everything.

Master in International Business Negotiation

Top Insider Advice

Negotiation is a people-oriented practice. It requires understanding human behaviour and psychology at a fundamental level. No matter what negotiating situation you encounter, your task will always be to talk to people, to understand them, to listen them and to work with them. As a negotiator, your skill-level is determined by how well you can interact with people, how you create and claim value in your relationships with people and how well you function in the face of challenges and unexpected situations. Therefore, you must appreciate social interactions and problem-solving in social situations. For introverts such as myself, this doesn’t mean that you need to be a naturally extroverted personality. But you need to create in yourself a passion for engaging with others. Personally, I enjoy seeing others happy and fulfilled. As a negotiator, my aim is to create valuable mutual benefits where all parties can be satisfied because I believe that this is what negotiation is all about. That is how my love for humanity manifests itself in a negotiating situation. You need to have a drive to see others succeed just as much as you do. My advice for you, dear reader, is to develop your own compass for negotiation. My compass is adding value to human relationships and interactions. What is yours? Is it designing the negotiation strategy? Researching about the people you will talk to? Find your compass, find your reason and use it as your anchor. But, always remember, you need to care about others. Selfishness is not a sustainable quality in an environment that requires trust and collaboration.

Moving to a new country/city to pursue your studies, especially if you have already been working for a few years might sound terrifying and you might be second guessing your decision now, but there is nothing more rewarding that looking back and seeing how far you've come. During my time at IESEG, I grew on all levels, personally and professionaly. I had never taken a business course in my life, I had never lived abroad in my life. Don't be overwhelmed, take thinks one step at a time. Trust me, you'll thanl yourself one day.
